You know - there are ways to learn SEO online, but an education in web development can make running the backend of a website much easier on the webmaster. From experience, trial and error is a B***H. When I started learning about SEO it was a huge undertaking to read all of the information available online about SEO article writing and SEO tips. The trouble is overload. In sort of a rant tonight, I have to touch again on the use of comments as backlinks. When I was away from my blog for a month, I accumulated quite a few comments. While I was thrilled that someone was even visiting my blog, I was stumped by the clear spamming comments that were useless. Does it really take that long to write a comment on a blog to gain a backlink to your website? A simply comment like - “Good Blog!” or “Nice Topic” is all I need to approve your link. Some of the comments where hundreds of links to various websites with no text aside from the keywords. Really?

Lesson on Commenting

To the authors of these spammy comments, your SEO work is not going to work. You need to spend some real time reading and commenting to earn the links you want. Otherwise you will be deleted and the time you spent will be worthless. Give it a try. Here are the steps.

• Find a blog that pertains to your niche.
• READ a post.
• Comment on the post.
• Use the NAME as your keyword.
• Use the WEBSITE as your link (can be internal).
